General Anesthesia
Most dental procedures in children are completed using local anesthesia. However, very young, fearful, or uncooperative children may require additional care. Depending upon your child's health history, temperament, age and dental care needs, our pediatric dentists may recommend treatment under general anesthesia. Our providers are credentialed at UNC Ambulatory Care Center to provide the best care possible for your child.
Under general anesthesia, your child will be completely asleep and pain free. Specially trained anesthesia professionals (physicians or certified nurse anesthetists) will administer medications and monitor your child while our providers perform the dental procedures.
