Meet the Pediatric Dentists

Dr. Jenna Alvey

Dr. Jenna Alvey Pediatric Dentist Dr. Jenna Alvey is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is originally from Bladenboro, North Carolina, making her a true Tar Heel, born and bred. Dr. Jenna originally moved to Chapel Hill to attend the University of North Carolina and to pursue her Bachelor of Science degree. She stayed and received her Doctor in Dental surgery, graduating with honors. After a brief stent in Seattle, Washington to work in public health dentistry, Dr. Jenna returned to her beloved Tar Heel State to receive her Master of Science degree and certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from UNC. Dr. Jenna is an active member of numerous professional organizations including:
  • The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
  • Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry
  • North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
While in dental school, Dr. Jenna met her husband, Brett. She considers herself very lucky to be able to work with amazing patients and alongside an awesome team, but even luckier to be the mom to three incredible kids, Aaron, Abigail and Caroline. The whole Alvey clan loves to be outside, playing sports and, of course, cheering on the Tar Heels!

 

Dr. Lauren Green

Dr. Lauren Green Pediatric Dentist Dr. Lauren Green is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She grew up in Matthews, NC and attended UNC Chapel Hill for college. She is proud to be a Tar Heel! She graduated top of her class with a DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry. She has been very involved in a variety of organizations promoting and advocating for oral health. She was selected as a Presidential Scholar, awarded the Psi Omega Fraternal Achievement Award, and inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Following graduation from MUSC, she returned to UNC Chapel Hill for specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. While in residency, she also attended UNC’s Gillings School of Public Health and received a Masters in Public Health in Health Policy & Management.

Dr. Green’s husband, Peter, is also a dentist - he specializes in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology. They have two miniature schnauzers - Winston and Rockefeller. In her spare time, Dr. Green likes to cycle, cook, read, sew, and travel!

 

Dr. Felicia Swinney

Dr. Felicia Swinney Pediatric Dentist Dr. Felicia Swinney is a board-certified pediatric dentist from Augusta, GA. She received her undergraduate degree from Berea College in Kentucky. After college, she moved to Philadelphia and attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Felicia served as a dental officer in the US Army, completing the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program and providing care for Soldiers in the United States, Korea, and Iraq. After serving in the Army, Dr. Felicia moved to NC to complete her pediatric dental residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Felicia, her husband, Charles, and daughter, Harper decided to make NC their home, eventually settling in Pittsboro, because of the wonderful community of friends they have built during their time here. Outside of work, Dr. Felicia volunteers with the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties and enjoys all things local! She and Harper like to explore new parks and trails. Early mornings, you may see Dr. Felicia on a run with her running friends in Orange and Chatham counties.

 

Dr. Erin Tilton

Dr. Erin Pediatric Dentist Dr. Erin Tilton is a board-certified pediatric dentist from Warren, Ohio. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and attended Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio for her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree. She moved to NC to attend the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill for her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry and her Master’s of Science in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Erin met her husband, Bryan, at the University of Richmond. They have a two-year-old son, Brody, and a baby girl, Lainey! She loves traveling, cooking, learning new things, and spending time with her family. Dr. Erin and her family love exploring the RDU area and being outside (especially visiting nature trails and parks)!

 

Dr. Jordan Telin

Dr. Telin Pediatric Dentist Dr. Jordan Telin is a board-certified pediatric dentist and diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and completed his Bachelors of Science at Penn State University. He went on to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a dentist. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University at Buffalo in New York, and graduated with honors. While in dental school Dr. Jordan was an active member of the student community, serving as the national Vice President of the American Student Dental Association.

He served on many councils and visited dental schools across the country, advocating for students and focused on promoting public outreach. He confirmed his passion for children’s wellness and went on to gain specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Boston Children’s Hospital with Harvard University. There he served as Chief Resident and focused his research on children with special healthcare needs.

Dr. Jordan loves traveling, cooking, running, and staying active outdoors. Most important to him is his family, spending time with friends, and of course his giant St. Berdoodle puppy, Tucker. He is very excited to bring his northern roots to the south and join the team!

Dr. Nate Shaw

Dr. Shaw Pediatric Dentist Born and raised in North Carolina, Dr. Nate attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with distinction. He then went on to attend UNC School of Dentistry, where he was in the top five percent of his dental class and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors. He then attended the Medical University of South Carolina, serving as Chief Resident and receiving his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Nate is a board-certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Nate and his wife Kate have two rescue dogs, Kona and Sullie. He enjoys playing and watching sports and has been on dental mission trips to Ecuador, Kenya and around his home state of North Carolina.

Dr. Jorge Arriagada

Dr. Jorge Pediatric Dentist Dr. Jorge Arriagada is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is originally from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. He completed both his dental and pediatric training at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Structural Biochemistry from North Carolina State University.

It is Dr. Jorge's mission is to treat children with gentleness, compassion and respect while making dentistry fun so that they can grow to be healthy adults without fear of dentistry.

He has been an active participant on Give Kids a Smile Day and Missions of Mercy Dental clinics since 2009. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

When he is not treating pediatric patients, Dr. Jorge and his wife, Cindy, a social worker, love playing board games, grilling, white water rafting, exploring the beaches and mountains with their three children, Ben, Jack and Lexie.

Dr. Ronen Krausz

Dr. Ronen Pediatric Dentist Dr. Ronen Krausz is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist with over fifteen years of experience creating positive, anxiety-free dental experiences for children. Originally from Los Angeles, he spent the last 19 years in Boston where he became the owner and Dental Director of Boston’s largest pediatric dental practice. Dr. Krausz earned repeated recognition as “Best of Boston” Top Pediatric Dentist for the last five years.

Dr. Krausz is known for his expertise in behavior management, as well as his calm, approachable style that helps families feel at ease while building lifelong healthy habits.

Now living in Apex, North Carolina with his wife, two children, and dog, Dr. Krausz looks forward to serving families in the Triangle community. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, discovering live music, and hosting impromptu dance parties.

Dr. Ivy Brisbin

Dr. Ivy Pediatric Dentist Dr. Ivy Brisbin is a board-certified pediatric dentist and diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She was raised in Salisbury, North Carolina, and will proudly let you know it’s the home of Cheerwine. Dr. Ivy is a triple Tar Heel, having received her Bachelors of Science, her Doctor of Dental Surgery, and her Masters in Pediatric Dentistry at UNC Chapel Hill. However, her proudest UNC accomplishment is most likely her 25+ intramural championships won during her many years at Carolina (her favorite sport was flag football!). Now, she stays connected to her UNC roots as an adjunct faculty, teaching dental students in the pediatric clinic setting.

In her free time, Dr. Ivy likes to travel in search of good restaurants and the best ice cream. She has served in the children’s ministry at her local church for the past 10 years and loves getting to work with preschoolers each week. She enjoys staying active through sports; she plays co-rec softball and wiffleball in the warmer months and curls during the fall and winter. Her favorite animal is a sea otter, so don’t be surprised to see her sporting sea otters on her socks.

She is very excited to be joining the team here and can’t wait to meet you!

Dr. Yassee Pirooz

Dr. Yassee Pediatric Dentist Dr. Yassee Pirooz is a board-certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is passionate about patient-centered care with a focus on prevention, and strives to make every visit a fun, positive, and memorable experience for every child she sees.

Dr. Yassee received her doctoral training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, graduating magna cum laude and earning numerous academic honors and awards. Her research spanned special needs dentistry, dental trauma, and global health — including a semester living in Rwanda, where she helped launch the country's first dental school.

She completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University, where she gained experience treating children of all levels of medical and dental complexity. Prior to dentistry, Dr. Yassee spent several years as a high school physics and biology teacher in Colorado — an experience that deepened her love of teaching and her commitment to making every patient visit a meaningful one.

Dr. Yassee had an international upbringing across England and Singapore, and that sense of adventure has never left her — she has traveled to over 60 countries and counting. When she's not in the office, she loves exploring new places with her husband and two boys, learning new languages, and staying active. She is so excited to be part of the Carolina Orthodontics and Children's Dentistry family and can't wait to meet your little ones!
